Hello!
When you are the caretaker of an elderly family member, you become consumed by doctors and medications, overwhelmed by the everyday tasks of bathing, dressing, and feeding, not to mention sleep-deprived due to the stress of working and caring for the other members of your family!
When you are the long-distance adult child of an aging parent, you have the added burden of travel, finding the right eldercare facility, and guilt on top of everything else.
So, it’s understandable that you are not thinking in terms of your elder loved ones losing their spouses and long-time friends, their loneliness, or their feelings of loss of things most familiar to them.
These are the generations who are not computer literate, not sending text messages, and whose disabilities often prevent them from even the simplest efforts at maintaining peer relationships and friendships.
That’s why I created Letters-from-the-Heart.
This program is not a replacement for family caring but, instead, an enhancement to it. Everyone, no matter how old, needs friendship; a peer relationship they may call their own and a friendship that differs from family caring because it is not focused upon health care, but rather upon “heart care”.
If you are anything like me, you struggle throughout the year trying to find meaningful gifts for your elderly loved ones. We hope you will honor your elderly family and friends with the gift of Letters-from-the-Heart and bring the joy of “heart care” into their lives.
Terry
PS...I am pleased to tell you we were recently honored by the Women's Hall of Fame at WE Magazine for busy women on the move. I would be so pleased if you would visit the following link!
